The Perfect nap

It was noon, the sun warm on our faces and the house quiet - for a change

A certain someone who has sat on mom's hip all morning, screaming with poking teeth finally went for a nap

Usually I fall on the couch in an exhausted heap, but today was different. Today I wanted to sew something... 

Starting out with a simple idea it soon evolved into sleeping bags for her dolls. I didn't care what we made, I just wanted to feel fabric in sun, hear the machine hum alongside the birds and spend some quiet time with her

Then 2 o'clock came,  and well I'll spare you the details of the rest of the teething feverish afternoon, because it doesn't matter...

...nap time was Perfect:)

Easy breezy boy pants

For years my talented sister in law over at polkadotpearcreates told me how easy little boy pants were. But I was doubtful. Although I love to sew squares - pillows, curtains, blankets- I've never sewn any clothes.

 Well she was right! I used this tutorial but instead of a t-shirt I used a shirt I found at the thriftstore. 

I love how it turned out. Sure it took me an hour and I stitched the leg closed a few times while hemming it, but seeing it on my boy today was enough inspiration to keep going!

Pop of colour - Easy pillow makeover from a skirt

That funky bright pattern was just what this little cabin needed.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon thrift-shopping with my lovely family and came home with this treasure. An ill-fitting skirt in it's former life and now a stunning new silky pillow to have a nap on (Ha - not gonna happen) or to read on ( keep dreaming) OK - A perfect pillow to use in pillow fights, to get juice on, to drool on, and maybe just maybe rest my head on every now and then. Hope you get a bit of creative time today!
