Night, the beloved.
Night, when words fade and things come alive.
When the destructive analysis of day is done,
and all that is truly important becomes whole and sound again.
When man reassembles his fragmentary self
and grows with the calm of a tree.
~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Our nights have become a time I look forward to all day.
Quiet silence fills the air as I put the last little one to bed.
Slowly I tiptoe, turn on the kettle and carefully select which tea to savour tonight ( aren't these beautiful)
Then I fill the hot water bottle just like my grandma used to, and reach for my crocheting just like my mama used to and cuddle under our beautiful quilt ready to laugh, cry and celebrate the night away with all the special Christmas programming
Don't you just love Christmas!

My children are now 11 and 9 and are very independent, but I still LOVE that magical moment when I have tucked them in with prayers and kisses and everything is quiet save the snoring of my hound dog snuggled up beside me! Enjoy!
