Science play

An old pair of sunglasses (safety goggles), plastic gloves and a broken microscope inspired a whole afternoon of serious "scientist" play.

Everything came from our kitchen:

 - soap, vinegar, oil, water, salt,
   baking soda, cinnamon and
   old crunchy leaves.

 - I also gave her my expired cosmetic oils,  a few bottles with caps on it, magnifying glass and whatever else I could find that looked sciency;)

She made it look so fun, that the whole family eventually joined in.

Definitely an activity we will try again

How to make cornstarch goop : White - Art and Science

We've been all about white around these parts.

Seeing Etian marvel at the snow, watching Semay build her snowman - is it any wonder that when we come inside, all we think of is snow.

So we gathered everything white we could find, and started filling our ceilings and fridge doors with glittering snow flakes and huge pompoms.

When we found the white cornstarch it was time to make indoor snow - somewhat - and marvel at this very cool science trick. Like quicksand, cornstarch mixed with water is hard to the touch, but turns liquid when suspended -
so cool!

Have a great day everyone!
