Quick Christmas craft :: hand painted ornaments

We had a short time left before the little brother woke up, the same brother who bugs her every time she brings out her craft supplies.

She wanted to make something... and I wanted to paint.

So out came all our nail polishes - they come in such amazing colors now don't you think? And the paintbrushes and glitter is all there in the bottle, ready to be used.

While painting them, they kept rolling away on us, so we cut a toilet paper roll shorter to balance them.

This was fun. The finish was shiny and durable, and the colours so bright.

I can see us paint a lot of things with nail polish in the future.

Hello

Hello cute little house

Oh and hello cuter little man - out trying to find the perfect little present

Hello, hello he practices his second word

preceded by "Dankie" meaning thank you in Afrikaans, so cute
and followed by his favourite word - No!
said with a scrunched up face while toddling away

Hello beautiful Tree!  and beautiful daughter learning how to put on ornaments

Oh Hello son, quickly discovering how to take them off

And hello to you! I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season as much as we are. This next week we plan to celebrate with a whole lot of baking and making and hanging out with loved ones. I hope to pop in here once in a while but like our yearly tradition holds, I left all the making gifts till last minute! so hopefully see you soon. If not have a wonderful Christmas season

Wilme

PS.  and why all the hello's you might ask, because this tune has been stuck in my head all week - awesome song "Hello" by Dragonette! Enjoy!

Night

                      Night, the beloved.
Night, when words fade and things come alive.
When the destructive analysis of day is done,
and all that is truly important becomes whole and sound again.
When man reassembles his fragmentary self
and grows with the calm of a tree.

                                      ~Antoine de Saint-ExupĂ©ry

Our nights have become a time I look forward to all day.

Quiet silence fills the air as I put the last little one to bed.

Slowly I tiptoe, turn on the kettle and carefully select which tea to savour tonight ( aren't these beautiful)

Then I fill the hot water bottle just like my grandma used to, and reach for my crocheting just like my mama used to and cuddle under our beautiful quilt ready to laugh, cry and celebrate the night away with all the special Christmas programming

Don't you just love Christmas!
